Multiples

A multiple of a number is that number's times table.

The multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 9, 12, etc.

Factors

A factor of a number is a number that divides exactly into a number.

The factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12.

Prime Numbers

A prime number is a number greater than 1 that only has two factors; 1 and itself.

Some prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, and 11. The number 2 is the only even prime number.
